How to Generate an Insurance Valuation Report
Insurance valuation reports provide a professional, printable summary of your collection values — perfect for documenting your items for insurance purposes. Each report includes item photos, current values, purchase history, and provenance details.
What's Included in the Report
- Cover Page with your name, policy number, insurance company, report date, and total declared value
- Collection Summary showing each collection's item count and total value (for portfolio-wide reports)
- Item Detail Cards with photos, current value, purchase price, purchase date, acquisition source, and any custom metadata fields
- Disclaimer noting that values are owner-declared and not a professional appraisal
Generating a Report for a Single Collection

- The report will include all your collections and their items, with a summary table at the top
Tips
- Save as PDF: When the print dialog opens, choose "Save as PDF" as the destination to create a digital copy
- Photos: Including photos makes the report more useful for insurance claims, but you can disable them for a smaller file
- Mixed currencies: If your items use different currencies, the report will show each item's value in its own currency and include a note about the mixed currencies
- Regular updates: Generate a new report periodically (e.g., annually) to keep your insurance documentation current, especially after adding valuable items
- Pop-up blocker: If the report doesn't open, your browser may be blocking pop-ups. Allow pop-ups for magpie.services and try again
